Dr Kevin Croswell

Dr. Kevin Croswell is a licensed psychologist with years of experience working in a variety of settings with adults, couples, and families.

In addition to private practice in Wesley Chapel, Dr. Croswell is currently employed in the Trauma Recovery Program at the James A. Haley VAMC in Tampa, FL. He works with returning combat veterans (from Iraq and Afghanistan) and their families suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma reactions (e.g. depression, anxiety, anger, relationship problems).

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology (APA-accredited) in 2006

Work Experience:

Dr. Croswell completed his post-doctoral training at James A. Haley Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tampa, FL and his pre-doctoral internship at the North Chicago Veteran Affairs Hospital specializing in the treatment of trauma and PTSD. He has worked with civilians, active duty military personnel, and veterans from all war eras and all types of trauma. Dr. Croswell gained professional experience working with adults and families in the following settings during his post-doctoral and internship training:

  • Specialized Outpatient PTSD programs
  • Specialized Residential PTSD program
  • Emergency Room/Department (voluntary and involuntary examinations)
  • Acute Inpatient Psychiatry Unit

Specializations:

Dr. Croswell’s specialized PTSD background makes him one of Tampa’s leading authorities in the assessment and treatment of psychological trauma. In addition to his specialized internship and post-doctoral work in PTSD programs, Dr. Croswell was selected by the National Center for PTSD as one of fifty individuals in the country to become a consultant in Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD. Prolonged Exposure therapy is the most researched, evidence-based treatment for PTSD. He trained extensively with the developers of this treatment, Drs. Foa and Hembree at University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He also received years of advanced training in this area. As a consultant, Dr. Croswell has trained dozens of mental health professionals around the country in the assessment and treatment of PTSD helping many people recover from all types of traumatic events.   • Prolonged Exposure Therapy: Certified Provider, Consultant to National Center of PTSD
  • Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): Level 2 Certified

  • Attended numerous professional workshops on trauma/PTSD/dissociation/complex PTSD
  • Consultant to dozens of mental health professionals around the country in working with traumatized populations
  • Supervisor to interns and post-doctoral residents in the Trauma Recovery Program at James A. Haley VAMC

In addition to his clinical experience, he has developed multiple programs as an administrator. He has served as the developer and coordinator of the Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF) PTSD program from 2006-2009. He also created and maintains the pre-doctoral training rotation in the PTSD program for pre-doctoral interns at James A. Haley VAMC. Dr. Croswell was recently selected as the Evidence-Based Psychotherapy (EBP) Coordinator for the James A. Haley VAMC. As the EBP Coordinator he administratively coordinates trainings in evidence-based psychotherapies, consults on challenging and complex cases, and serves to advocate the research showing effectiveness of psychotherapies to the public and government officials.

Dr Lewis Croswell

Dr. Jaclyn Lewis-Croswell is a licensed clinical psychologist with experience working in a variety of settings with adults, children, adolescents, and families. In addition to private practice in Wesley Chapel, Dr. Lewis-Croswell is currently employed at the James A. Haley VAMC in Tampa, FL working in the Primary Care Clinics (PCC) as a lead Behavioral Health Consultant. As a Behavioral Health Consultant she helps primary care physicians manage patient's health behaviors such as weight loss, smoking cessation, stress management, sleep problems, chronic pain, coping with chronic illness, and medical adherence such as diabetes management. She has worked with veterans from multiple wars including World War II, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq and Afghanistan. She also works with veterans suffering from multiple psychological symptoms such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, and marital problems.

Dr. Lewis-Croswell gained professional experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families in the following settings during her internship and post-doctoral training:

  • Dr. Lewis-Croswell worked with children, adolescents and adults during her internship at the Dreikurs’ Psychological Services Center in Chicago. She provided psychotherapy and assessment for ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, and depression in addition to behavioral health interventions and hypnosis for sleep problems, weight loss, smoking cessation, in addition to other health and psychological problems.
  • Dr. Lewis-Croswell worked at the James A. Haley Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tampa, FL during her post-doctoral training and worked with the Oncology and Kidney (Renal) Services conducting therapy with veterans with health problems and conducted Organ Transplant Evaluations for the Veterans’ Affairs Hospital.
